The Story Behind Omah Kempalan
Every house with its own soul, all gathered under one philosophy.
One Estate, Many Stories
At Omah Kempalan, each guesthouse has been named and crafted with intention — rooted in Javanese heritage, shaped by the land, and guided by the spirit of hospitality.
The word “Kempalan” means gathering. It speaks to more than just the layout of our estate — a collection of traditional homes nestled in nature — but to the emotional experience we aim to offer: a place where people come together, connect, unwind, and find their own rhythm.
Each house at Omah Kempalan offers a different pace, a different voice. Yet together, they create a unified harmony — a place where you can find stillness, celebration, memory, or connection.
Because coming together doesn’t mean being the same — it means sharing a space that lets everyone feel truly at home.

Omah Kempalan
The Heart of the estate
Our central Joglo, with its soaring ceilings and open layout, welcomes up to 10 guests. This is where most of the magic happens — shared breakfasts, meaningful conversations, and long evenings under the stars. A space built for togetherness.
Omah Poetih
The light and airy house.
Named after the Javanese word for “white,” Omah Poetih is calm, clean, and serene. With soft tones and natural light, it’s perfect for guests looking for peace, simplicity, and space to breathe.
Omah Lawas
A step into the past.
Lawas means old — and this house wears its history with pride. A vintage home full of character and stories, ideal for those who appreciate timeworn textures and the charm of old teak wood.
Omah Lesung
Down to earth.
Inspired by the traditional rice-pounding tool, this Gladak-style house connects you to the essence of rural life. Humble, natural, and grounded, it invites slow mornings and a reconnection with nature.
Joglo Kecil
Small in size, full of character.
Nestled quietly among the other houses, Omah Kecil embraces the essence of simplicity. Built around a vintage wooden core, extended with new structure, and featuring a traditional-style bathroom, it’s a blend of old and new — just like the estate itself.
Omah Andhap Coming Soon
Presence without prominence.
This latest addition now anchors the estate with quiet strength. While primarily the owners’ residence during full-estate rentals, its understated presence completes the collection. Andhap reflects the beauty of being there — not in front, but always in support.
